Legal
Government and Law Enforcement Requests
Our customers store their entire business in this platform. If a government or law enforcement agency asks us for it, these are the rules we follow, published so customers do not have to wonder.
This applies to ContractorX and to every site and product we operate under it: contractorx.co, rooferx.com (RooferX), solarsalesx.com (SolarSalesX), and tradesmenx.com (TradesmenX). RooferX, SolarSalesX and TradesmenX are the ContractorX platform presented for a particular trade, not separate services. Where this page says ContractorX, the Services, or we, it means all of them.

The principle
The records in a customer’s workspace belong to that customer. We hold them to run the service. When someone asks us to hand them over, our default is to point them at the customer, because the customer is the right party to respond, and to require valid legal process before we produce anything ourselves.
What we require
- A valid, properly served subpoena, court order, warrant, or equivalent legal process, issued under the law of a jurisdiction that applies to us.
- Requests scoped to identified accounts and time periods. We do not honor bulk, exploratory, or open-ended demands.
- Content of communications and documents requires a warrant or the customer's consent, not a subpoena.
- Emergency requests are considered only where there is a good-faith belief of an imminent risk of death or serious physical injury, and are limited to the information needed to address that emergency.
We tell the customer
Our policy is to notify the affected customer before we produce anything, so they can seek to narrow or challenge the request, unless we are legally prohibited from telling them, or there is a genuine emergency involving risk to life. Where a gag order applies, we notify the customer as soon as the prohibition expires or is lifted, and where an order is indefinite we will ask the issuing authority to reconsider.
We push back
- We review every request for legal validity and scope.
- We challenge demands that are overbroad, vague, procedurally defective, or unlawful, and we ask for them to be narrowed before we consider producing anything.
- We produce the minimum the process actually requires, and nothing beyond it.
- We charge nothing for compliance in ordinary cases, which keeps the decision about the merits rather than the money.
How to serve us
Law enforcement and government agencies should send legal process to ContractorX LLC, 2525 Ponce de Leon Blvd., Coral Gables, Florida 33134, and may reach our legal contact through the contact page with “Legal process” in the subject. Include the account or workspace at issue, the specific records sought, and the time period. Requests without that detail will be returned for narrowing.
Receiving a request does not mean we have produced anything. Our contractual commitments to customers on this point are in the Data Processing Addendum. This policy is current as of August 20, 2026.
